SUMIRIT sa 6% nitong Hulyo 2026 ang unemployment rate sa bansa, batay sa datos na inilabas ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) nitong Martes, Setyembre 8.

Ayon sa ulat ng PSA, mas mataas ito kung ikukumpara sa talang 5.3% noong Hulyo 2025; gayundin sa 4.7% nito namang Abril 2026.

Anang ahensya, ang 6.0% unemployment rate nitong Hulyo 2026 ay katumbas ng 3.14 milyong Pinoy na walang trabaho; mas mataas sa 2.59 milyon noong Hulyo 2025, pati na rin sa 2.41 milyon nito namang Abril 2026.

Samantala, mas mababa naman ang employment rate nitong Hulyo 2026 kung ikukumpara sa mga tala noong Hulyo 2025 at Abril 2026.

Base sa datos ng PSA, 94.0% ang employment rate nitong Hulyo 2026; mas mababa sa 94.7% noong Hulyo 2025, at sa 95.3% nito namang Abril 2026.

Sa usaping magnitude, tinatayang katumbas ng 94.0% employment rate ang 49.21 milyong Pinoy na manggagawa.

Sa nasabing ulat, ibinahagi rin ng PSA ang “sub-sectors” na nakapagtala ng “top five” annual increase at decrease sa bilang ng mga manggagawang Pilipino nitong Hulyo 2026.

“The top five sub-sectors in terms of annual increase in the number of employed persons in July 2026 were the following: Agriculture and Forestry (1.03 million); Accommodation and Food Service Activities (729 thousand); Wholesale and Retail Trade; Repair of Motor Vehicles and Motorcycles (424 thousand); Administrative and Support Service Activities (201 thousand); Transportation and Storage (197 thousand),” mababasa sa ulat ng PSA.

Dagdag pa nito, “In contrast, the following five sub-sectors posted the highest annual decreases in the number of employed persons: Manufacturing (-134 thousand); Information and Communication (-41 thousand); Professional, Scientific and Technical Activities (-28 thousand); Water Supply; Sewerage, Waste Management and Remediation Activities (-9 thousand); Financial and Insurance Activities (-7 thousand).”
