OLONGAPO CITY - Volunteers from SM Supermalls—through SM City Olongapo Central and SM City Olongapo Downtown—turned a day of service into a meaningful and energetic community effort as they took part in this year’s Brigada Eskwela initiative.
Held on June 2 and 4, employees and partners stepped away from their usual mall duties and office work to help prepare public schools for the upcoming academic year by repainting classrooms, repairing furniture, and conducting general cleaning activities.
Volunteers from SM City Olongapo Central were deployed to Boton Elementary School where they spent the day painting walls, repairing school furniture, and cleaning classrooms.
SM City Olongapo Downtown led parallel efforts at Upper Sibul Elementary School where volunteers repainted classroom interiors, cleaned and restored desks and chairs, helping transform learning spaces to more functional and welcoming conditions.
By bringing a positive, fun-filled attitude to the tasks, the SM volunteers made the heavy lifting feel light and highly productive. Cooperating with coworkers made the hard work fun.
Seeing the bright, clean classrooms made it a truly fruitful day.
Brigada Eskwela is a key volunteer program of SM, supported by SM Security personnel, partner agencies, and administrative employees.
SM continues to support local public schools, proving that corporate volunteerism can create both immediate community benefits and lasting, positive memories.
