QC LGU condoles with family of woman who died while lining up for aid under Councilor Vito Sotto

THE Quezon City Government has expressed condolences to the family of a woman who died while waiting in line for Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) under the office of Councilor Vito Sotto.
In a statement released by the local government, authorities said the 53-year-old resident of Barangay Sauyo lost consciousness and hit her head on the floor while lining up for the AICS payout at the Risen Garden inside City Hall on Tuesday, May 19.
Emergency responders from the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office immediately responded and rushed the woman to the East Avenue Medical Center for medical treatment.
Despite the efforts of the hospital’s medical team, the woman died several minutes later.
The local government has already extended burial assistance to the victim’s family.
The woman’s youngest child will also be endorsed to the city’s scholarship program to provide additional support.
The Quezon City government said it continues to coordinate with the victim’s family to determine what other assistance may still be provided.
Meanwhile, the city government assured the public that it will review the implementation of safety protocols during activities conducted by various organizations at City Hall to ensure the safety and welfare of all attendees.
