More than 800 driver’s licenses have been suspended or revoked by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) as part of the agency’s intensified enforcement campaign.

According to LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao, the stricter measures were implemented beginning in October last year as part of efforts to strengthen road discipline and ensure public safety.

Lacanilao said that since he assumed office, the agency has revoked 434 driver’s licenses and suspended 396 others.

He explained that the intensified campaign aims to improve motorists’ discipline, prevent road accidents, and protect all road users.

“This is part of our duty to strictly enforce traffic laws, and it is one of the LTO’s concrete accomplishments,” Lacanilao said.

Of the 434 revoked licenses, 325 were canceled for two years, 15 were subjected to a four-year cancellation period, while 94 were permanently revoked.

Meanwhile, among the 396 suspended licenses, 23 were suspended for one month, 290 for three months, seven for six months, one for seven months, and 75 for one year.

Lacanilao emphasized that these actions reflect the agency’s continuing commitment to promoting responsible driving and ensuring strict compliance with traffic laws for the safety and welfare of everyone on the road.
